#37 Why Life Feels “Off” Right Now
How Misalignment Reveals the Path Back to Presence
Have you ever said yes when every part of your body said no? Or tried to prove, perform, or keep up yet still felt something inside was... off?
You’re not alone. And you’re not broken. You may simply be living out of alignment with what’s true.
In this reflection, I explore why life often feels off and how to return to right relationship with yourself through discernment, breath, and presence.
What Does It Mean to Be “Out of Alignment”?
Misalignment isn’t a failure. It’s a symptom.
It shows up when your actions don’t reflect your truth…
When you live by inherited “I Am” statements like:
I am only valuable when I perform.
I am too much.
I am not enough.
Each of these is a false contract.
And when you live inside them, life will inevitably feel off.
Reclaiming Justice as Right Relationship
Justice isn’t about rules or punishment. In its original root (yew), justice means to bind, to bring into right relationship, to live in harmony with sacred law, not legal law, but energetic law.
Justice is not something we enforce.
It’s something we live.
When you are in right relationship with yourself, with your breath, and with your being, that is justice.
Systems That Distort Justice (and Self)
Many of us feel off because we’ve been shaped by systems that separate worth from being:
Legal + Punitive Systems
Focus on punishment, not restoration. They measure behaviour, not truth.
Religious Institutions
When rooted in dogma, they can instill shame and disconnection from inner knowing.
Capitalism + Productivity Culture
Tie worth to output, perfection, and performance.
Colonial + Patriarchal Structures
Silence diversity, dominate through control, and erase embodied wisdom.
Signs You’re Out of Alignment
You say yes when your body says no.
You perform calm while feeling chaotic.
You feel guilt when you rest.
You teach truth you haven’t fully integrated.
You’re caught in “I Am” loops based on survival, not soul.
If this resonates, I invite you to also explore Episode #36: Why Mindset Work Fails When You’re Stuck in Rumination.
In that episode, I go deeper into how overthinking and emotional avoidance trap us in the lower mind and why true healing begins not with fixing your thoughts, but with feeling what’s underneath them.
Practice: The “I Am” Breath
A simple, powerful return to presence:
Sit or stand. One hand on your heart, one on your belly.
Inhale gently: “I…”
Exhale softly: “…am.”
Let it echo in your body.
Ask:
What am I believing?
Is it true?
Do I need to choose again?
Reclaiming Justice Starts Within
You don’t need another rulebook.
You need presence.
When you stop outsourcing truth and start breathing with yourself, like you matter, you reclaim the justice of being.
Because you do matter.
And your I Am doesn’t need to be earned.
Take a moment with each of these:
What systems shaped my sense of justice or worth?
Where have I felt unseen or misjudged by those systems?
What “I Am” statements silently guide my choices today?
